NGN Market now tracks US stocks

When we started NGN Market, most of what we built was focused on the Nigerian market. You could track NGX-listed companies, compare prices and market caps, look through financial statements and disclosures, manage a portfolio, set alerts, and use the AI Analyst to research companies.

But many people using NGN Market don't only follow Nigerian stocks. They also own or research companies such as Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla, Meta, and hundreds of others trading in the US.

So we have started expanding NGN Market beyond the NGX.

You can now track more than 6,000 stocks and ADRs trading on US exchanges directly on NGN Market, with dedicated pages for companies, indices, ETFs, market activity, and other tools we already use for the Nigerian market.

You can explore it at ngnmarket.com/us.

Start with the US market

The main US market page ranks companies by market capitalization and gives you a broad view of the companies trading across Nasdaq, NYSE, NYSE American, NYSE Arca, Cboe BZX, and other supported exchanges.

You can filter by exchange and sector, then sort companies using metrics such as price, daily performance, weekly and monthly returns, year-to-date performance, market cap, trading volume, shares outstanding, and P/E ratio.

We also handle companies with multiple publicly traded share classes when calculating the rankings, so you do not end up counting the same company several times simply because it has more than one listed class.

The largest companies receive more frequent updates during the US trading session, while smaller listings update on a slower cycle. US quotes on NGN Market are delayed market data, so the platform is designed for research and tracking rather than order execution.

See what is happening across the market

Looking at individual stocks only tells you part of what happened during a trading day, so we have also built US versions of several market views already available on NGN Market.

The Market Snapshot gives you a broader view of market direction and breadth, including how many stocks are advancing or declining, trading volume, and how different sectors are performing.

You can also use Trending to see gainers, losers, and the most actively traded stocks, while the Heatmap and Bubble Chart make it easier to see where the biggest moves are happening visually.

Major US indices also have their own pages, including the S&P 500, Nasdaq Composite, and Dow Jones. You can move from the wider market into a company without leaving the US section of NGN Market.

We have also added a dedicated ETF section. The US market has thousands of exchange-traded funds alongside ordinary stocks and ADRs, so we keep ETFs separate from company rankings instead of mixing everything into one list.

Research individual US stocks

Each supported US company has its own stock page where you can follow the company in more detail.

That means you can search for a ticker such as NVDA, AAPL, MSFT, or TSLA and move from the broad market view into the company you are interested in.

The same search experience also works across NGN Market, so you do not need a separate account or separate research setup for Nigerian and US companies.

This becomes more useful when you already follow stocks in both markets.

For example, someone holding GTCO, DANGCEM, NVDA, and AAPL can now follow those companies from the same NGN Market account instead of maintaining one set of tools for Nigeria and another for the US.

Your portfolio, watchlist and alerts now work across both markets

We wanted the US expansion to work with the rest of NGN Market, rather than exist as a separate collection of pages.

You can add supported US stocks to your portfolio and watchlist alongside your Nigerian holdings. NGX investments remain in naira while US positions remain in dollars, so we do not combine different currencies into a misleading portfolio total.

You can also create price alerts for US stocks and track them from the same alerts dashboard you already use for NGX companies.

The navigation across the US market already includes Portfolio, Alerts, Watchlist and the other account features available across NGN Market.

Ask the AI Analyst about US stocks too

The NGN Market AI Analyst can now work with US market data as well.

You can ask about a company, compare stocks, check recent price performance, look at market activity, or ask questions about companies in your portfolio without manually moving through several pages.

For example, you could ask how Nvidia has performed over the past month, compare it with AMD, then ask which one has the larger market cap. The assistant can keep the context of the conversation while looking up the relevant market data.

The US section already includes the AI Assistant alongside Portfolio Tracker, Price Alerts and the other NGN Market features.

There is more coming

US stocks are the first part of this expansion. We are also working on US dividend data, which will make it easier to research dividend history and upcoming payments alongside the other company data on NGN Market.

US market data is also coming to the NGN Market API. Our API already gives developers access to Nigerian market data, financials, disclosures, dividends, indices, forex, and other datasets. Adding US coverage means developers will eventually be able to work with both markets through the same developer platform.

We will share more about the available datasets and endpoints when that is ready.

For now, you can explore more than 6,000 US-listed stocks and ADRs, along with ETFs, indices, market movers, and the other US market tools already available at ngnmarket.com/us.
