You can now track insider dealings on NGN Market

When a director, executive, major shareholder, employee, or connected party buys or sells shares in an NGX-listed company, the transaction is usually disclosed through an NGX filing.

Those filings are public, but following the activity over time is harder than it should be. One document can tell you that an insider bought shares. It does not immediately show you what that person has done before, whether other insiders are buying the same stock, how much insiders have bought or sold over a period, or how the activity compares with other companies.

We have now added Insider Dealings to NGN Market to make that information easier to research.

NGN Market collects insider-dealing filings from the Nigerian Exchange, extracts the transaction details, and connects them to the relevant companies and insiders.

You can explore activity across the market, open the insider history for a particular stock, follow the transactions of a specific person or entity, and return to the original filing when you want to verify a trade.

See insider activity across the NGX

The new Insider Dealings page gives you a market-wide view of recent activity. You can see net insider flow over different periods, the number of filings, the biggest trades, and the most active insiders. We also show the companies with the most insider buying and selling, which makes it easier to spot where money has been moving without checking each company separately.

There is also an Insider clusters section that looks for companies where several different insiders have been trading within the same period. For example, the current 90-day view has identified buying activity involving multiple insiders at companies including MTNN, UCAP, TRANSCORP, ARADEL, and ZENITHBANK.

Below the summary is the full transaction feed. You can search by company or insider, switch between buys and sells, filter by insider type or transaction value, and open any trade for more details. The dataset currently contains thousands of NGX filings.

Every supported NGX stock now has an Insider Dealings tab alongside Chart, Disclosures, Financials, and About.

The company view brings its insider transactions together and adds context around them. You can see recent net insider flow, historical buys and sells, the largest recorded trade, and how long filings typically took to reach NGX.

For example, the DANGCEM page in our current dataset shows ₦28.9 billion in net insider selling over the last 90 days. Its historical records include eight buys and three sells, while the largest single transaction was a ₦71.1 billion sale by GW Grey Pte Ltd.

You can also look at activity over time. The trends view shows monthly buying and selling, cumulative net insider flow, filing timeliness, and transaction-size distribution. We also flag some data-quality issues, such as scanned PDFs or dates that need review, because NGX filings do not always arrive in the same format.

For UACN, for example, 74 filings in the current dataset reached NGX within five days of the transaction, while eight took more than 14 days. Its slowest recorded filing had a 56-day delay.

That distinction matters when you are looking at insider activity. The date a filing appears is not always the date the trade happened.

Track the insider, not only the company

Sometimes you are researching a person or entity rather than a stock.

NGN Market now creates individual insider profiles that bring their transactions together across companies. A profile shows the insider's historical buys and sells, companies traded, number of filings, first recorded activity, latest activity, and the individual transactions underneath.

Calvados Global Services Limited is a good example. Its profile currently contains 10 disclosed purchases across FBNH and FIRSTHOLDCO, with about ₦568.6 billion in net buying recorded in our dataset. The activity goes back to June 2024 and can be followed transaction by transaction.

This also helps when the same insider appears repeatedly over time. Instead of searching for their name across separate filings, you can open one profile and see the history we have connected to them.

NGX filings sometimes use different versions of the same person's name, so we normalize insider identities when processing the data. This helps later filings stay connected to the same profile even when the exact text in the document changes.

Open the original filing when you need it

For each transaction, NGN Market keeps more than the buy or sell label. Depending on your plan, you can see the number of shares, average price, total value, transaction date, filing date, filing delay, location, and individual tranches where they are available.

You can also open the original NGX document directly from the transaction. We want the structured data to make research faster, while keeping the source close enough that you can check the filing yourself.

Premium users can also follow an insider and receive an email when a new transaction involving them is added. Pro and Premium users can export insider data to CSV or XLSX when they want to work with it outside NGN Market.

We are also bringing insider-dealings data to the NGN Market API, so developers will be able to use the same structured data in their own applications, dashboards, and research tools. We’ll share the endpoints and access details once they are available.

The insider data is also available through the NGN Market AI Analyst, so you can ask questions such as "Who has been buying UBA?" or "Show me recent insider activity for MTNN" without manually working through the tables. The AI uses the same account permissions as the rest of NGN Market.
