Tetracore Energy Opens New CNG Station in Benin City

Tetracore Energy Group (TEG) has commissioned a new Auto Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station in Uwusan, Benin City, Edo State. This expansion strengthens its position in gas-powered mobility and downstream gas distribution in Nigeria.

The station boasts an installed capacity of 120,000 SCMD. It is capable of fueling up to 200 vehicles daily, enhancing fuel availability for mass transit systems, trucks, buses, and other commercial CNG-powered vehicles.

Strategically positioned to serve Benin City and its surrounding industrial and logistics corridors, the station is a key node in Tetracore’s growing gas distribution network. It is designed to meet the increasing demand in high-growth economic clusters.

This development aligns with Tetracore’s strategy to build a scalable, corridor-based gas infrastructure platform. The platform is anchored on urban and industrial clusters with strong volume visibility and repeatable deployment economics.

By integrating daughter stations with upcoming mother station capacity, the company is advancing a capital-efficient, vertically integrated distribution model. This model enhances asset utilization, strengthens supply reliability, and supports predictable revenue generation.

The Benin axis is identified as a critical growth corridor due to rising demand from logistics operators, industrial users, and commercial fleets. This positions the new asset for strong utilization and long-term cash flow visibility.

As Tetracore expands its footprint, it continues to seek strategic partnerships, structured capital, and co-investment opportunities. These are aimed at accelerating deployment across Nigeria and West Africa.

For fleet operators and industrial offtakers, the Uwusan station offers several benefits:

  • Lower and more predictable fuel costs compared to conventional fuels.
  • Enhanced energy security through consistent and reliable gas supply.
  • Improved operational efficiency due to accessible refueling infrastructure.
  • Alignment with decarbonization goals and Nigeria’s evolving regulatory direction.

The commissioning of this station highlights Tetracore’s execution capabilities and disciplined approach to scaling gas infrastructure. This builds upon its existing portfolio of high-performing CNG assets across key regions.

Tetracore has confirmed that a dedicated CNG Mother Station for the Benin axis is currently under development. It is expected to become operational in the coming months. This will further bolster compression capacity, improve supply reliability, and enhance network efficiency, integrating Uwusan into a fully developed gas supply ecosystem.
