Eterna Plc, a significant entity in Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector, has confirmed the resignation of Dr. Bunmi Agagu-Adu from her role as Executive Director. Her departure, which took effect on May 25, 2026, concludes a two-year tenure in this position.
The company formally communicated this development to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), shareholders, and the investing public via a notification dated Tuesday, June 2, 2026. The statement, signed by Company Secretary David Edet, did not provide specific reasons for her resignation or announce an immediate replacement.
During her time at Eterna Plc, Dr. Agagu-Adu played a role in the company's downstream operations, encompassing retail, lubricants, LPG, and aviation fueling. The Board of Directors expressed gratitude for her dedication and contributions, wishing her success in future endeavors.
Dr. Agagu-Adu joined Eterna Plc in 2008 and progressed through various roles, including Company Secretary from 2013 for nearly a decade. She later became the Managing Director of Eterna Industries Limited in 2024, leading to her board appointment as executive director.
This leadership change follows closely on the heels of Eterna Plc’s recent appointment of Dr. Jude Nwaulune as its new Managing Director and CEO, effective May 14, 2026. Dr. Nwaulune succeeded Mr. Olumide Adeosun, who stepped down on May 13, 2026. Dr. Nwaulune brings extensive experience from his previous role as Managing Director of Rainoil Logistics Services Limited.
