Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-gantry cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N1,200 per litre, marking a decrease of N75.
This move comes after the refinery had previously indicated potential price increases to around N1,350 per litre, citing global oil market strains.
However, in a letter signed by its management, the refinery debunked the anticipated hike, maintaining that prices remained at the N1,275 per litre mark before this latest reduction.
Sources familiar with the situation confirmed that the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery has again lowered the ex-gantry cost of petrol to N1,200/litre, establishing the most stable price seen amidst the refinery's ongoing price fluctuations.
As of 10:04 a.m. on the day of the report, Brent Crude was trading at $100 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood at $94.32 per barrel, having slipped by 0.49 percent.
