Zedcrest Group has announced the appointment of Ademola Akogun as the new Managing Director for its Investment Banking division. This strategic move comes after the company successfully secured its Issuing House license, significantly expanding its service offerings.

With this new license, Zedcrest is now equipped to provide comprehensive investment banking services. These include capital raising, structured finance, and various advisory services, catering to a broader range of client needs.

The announcement was made by Adedayo Amzat, CFA, Group Managing Director of Zedcrest Group, during a press conference at the company's head office in Lagos. Amzat noted that Akogun's appointment is subject to vetting by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Amzat expressed confidence in Akogun's leadership, stating, “Ademola’s appointment marks a significant step in Zedcrest’s journey to build a world-class investment banking franchise. He brings deep market insight, extensive experience, and a proven track record in executing complex transactions. We are confident that his leadership will accelerate our growth and further enhance the value we deliver to our clients and stakeholders.”

Ademola Akogun possesses over ten years of experience in the financial sector, with expertise in infrastructure finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate advisory. Prior to joining Zedcrest, he was the Head of Financial Advisory & Debt Solutions at Quest Merchant Bank Limited.

In his role at Quest Merchant Bank, Akogun was instrumental in originating and executing complex transactions across vital sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and financial services. His background also includes a tenure as Vice President, Investment at EverCorp Industries.

At EverCorp Industries, he managed investment strategy, deal structuring, and portfolio management for a diverse energy portfolio. This included upstream oil and gas assets, gas distribution infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.

Akogun began his career at Vetiva Capital Management, where he rose to Senior Analyst in the Corporate Finance/Investment Banking Division within two years. His responsibilities there included executing buy and sell-side transactions, developing financial models, supporting capital raising, and contributing to strategic decision-making through market analysis.

He later moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC Nigeria) as an Assistant Manager in Corporate Finance. At PwC, he played a key role in originating and executing mergers and acquisition deals, capital raising, and financial advisory mandates across various industries.
