Digital asset platform Busha has announced the launch of Signal by Busha, a licensed prediction market designed to forecast trends across business, politics, technology, and sports. Licensed by the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority, the platform is immediately accessible as a web application for existing and new Busha users.
Users can fund their Signal wallets directly from their primary Busha accounts. The platform supports balances in Naira, stablecoins, and other cryptocurrencies available within the main Busha application.
A New Tool for Real-Time Forecasting
Unlike traditional one-off betting, Signal allows users to buy and sell positions throughout the lifespan of a market. This structure enables participants to adjust their financial exposure as new information and trends emerge. Markets are settled using official event sources, with an internal resolution team handling markets that lack a single authoritative source under transparent consumer protection guidelines.
Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, co-founder of Busha, emphasized the value of prediction markets as information systems. He noted that when people back their convictions with capital, they generate real-time signals about future trends, offering a valuable complement to traditional research for businesses and policymakers.
Expanding the African Fintech Ecosystem
The launch of Signal marks Busha's transition from a digital asset exchange into a broader technology company. Michael Adeyeri, co-founder and CEO of Busha, stated that the company's vision is to build technology that gives Africans access to future-shaping financial tools, moving beyond transactions to collective intelligence.
This rollout builds on a series of product expansions over the last six months. The company recently introduced Busha 3.0, an all-in-one money app featuring high-yield savings products, and launched Busha Business to facilitate stablecoin-powered cross-border payments. Busha also plans to launch stablecoin-backed virtual Visa cards, allowing users to spend directly from their digital asset and fiat balances.
