Beta Glass Plc has officially appointed Mr. Boye Olusanya as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. The appointment, which took effect on July 30, 2026, was disclosed in a regulatory filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange on August 5, 2026.
Olusanya succeeds Dr. Vitus Ezinwa, who stepped down after leading the board since 2024. Ezinwa originally assumed the chairmanship following the passing of the former chairman, Abimbola Ogunbanjo. The board expressed appreciation for Ezinwa's dedicated service and strategic guidance during his tenure, noting his contributions to the company's growth.
Olusanya Brings Extensive Corporate Leadership
Olusanya brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience across multiple sectors, including fast-moving consumer goods, agriculture, telecommunications, technology, energy, infrastructure, and financial services.
He currently serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer of FMN Holdings Limited. He has previously held senior leadership roles at VMobile, Dancom Technologies, Dangote Industries, 9mobile, and Helios Investment Partners.
Additionally, Olusanya has served as the chairman of Axxela Limited and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group. He is also a member of the Presidential Food Systems Coordination Unit.
Takeover Offer by Emerald HoldCo
This leadership transition comes shortly after the Securities and Exchange Commission approved a mandatory takeover offer by Emerald HoldCo B.V. valued at approximately N6.94 billion.
Under the terms of the approved offer, Emerald HoldCo is looking to acquire up to 11.74 million ordinary shares of Beta Glass at a price of N590.94 per share.
The takeover offer was triggered by Emerald HoldCo acquiring a controlling stake in Beta Glass through a broader restructuring of the former Frigoglass Group's operations in Nigeria.
