Zenith Bank Plc has expanded its footprint in Delta State with the official opening of a new branch in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area. This strategic move positions Zenith Bank as the first commercial bank to establish a presence in the Osubi community, reaffirming its commitment to financial inclusion and bringing world-class financial services closer to local businesses and residents.
The commissioning ceremony took place on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, in Osubi. Dignitaries present included the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, senior government officials, traditional rulers, members of the business community, customers, and other key stakeholders.
In his address, Governor Oborevwori described the new branch as “a clear vote of confidence in the economic potential of our state.” He added that it demonstrates the tangible results of investments made in infrastructure, economic development, and ease of doing business in Delta State.
The Governor further highlighted the branch’s significance to the host community, noting that “this branch is the only bank in the whole of Okpe Local Government as it is today.” He emphasized the profound impact it will have on the local economy.
Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, spoke at the event, commending Governor Oborevwori for his support of private sector growth. She noted that the establishment of the branch reflects the conducive environment for investment and economic development fostered in Delta State.
Dr. Umeoji expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his “unwavering support and partnership,” specifically mentioning his “generous donation of the land on which this branch is built.” She acknowledged the Governor’s significant infrastructure and socio-economic development efforts across the state.
The GMD described the Osubi branch, which is the Bank’s 19th in Delta State, as a milestone in Zenith Bank’s enduring relationship with the State.
