UBS Global Wealth Report 2026: World Wealth Up 10.8%

The UBS Global Wealth Report 2026, an annual study tracking personal wealth across 56 economies, indicates a significant increase in global wealth. The report highlights that personal wealth across these markets grew by 10.8% in US dollar terms, more than double the pace of the previous two years.

This growth was primarily fueled by robust financial market performance and a broad appreciation in non-financial assets, including property. The year 2025 saw the creation of nearly one million new US dollar millionaires, elevating the global millionaire population to approximately 57.5 million.

However, wealth gains were not uniformly distributed across regions, countries, and wealth groups. The Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region experienced the strongest growth, while currency movements also played a crucial role as the US dollar weakened against major currencies like the euro during the year.

Among African nations, South Africa was the only country included in the 56-market UBS report. While not among the global leaders in average wealth per adult, the country saw an addition of approximately 3,840 new USD millionaires in 2025, representing a 4.1% growth and bringing its total millionaire population to approximately 97,000.
