PTML Customs Generates N181bn Revenue Under Anani

Nura Miko has officially taken over as the acting controller of the Nigeria Customs Service’s Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command. He succeeds Joseph Anani, who reported that the command generated N181 billion in revenue during his eight-month tenure.

At the handover ceremony, Miko emphasized his commitment to leading with integrity, transparency, and collaboration. "Under my watch, integrity will be non-negotiable, trade facilitation will remain our priority, due process will be strictly respected, and teamwork will be our greatest strength," he stated.

Miko plans to build upon his predecessor's achievements and enhance cooperation with government agencies and private sector stakeholders operating within the port. He noted the importance of inter-agency synergy for effective port operations, revenue generation, and national security, promising an open approach to constructive engagement.

Joseph Anani, who has been redeployed to the Tin Can Island Port Command, described his time at PTML as an "extraordinary privilege." He highlighted the command's success in consolidating the Unified Customs Management System, known as B’Odogwu, after its initial rollout and operational challenges.

Anani also pointed to strengthened enforcement operations, which led to the seizure and transfer of illicit drugs, arms, and ammunition to relevant agencies. Furthermore, PTML achieved a one-hour clearance for compliant vehicle imports and fostered a compliance-driven culture among stakeholders.
