According to a statement e-signed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, motorists are urged to plan their journeys and utilize alternative routes effectively during the construction period. The project, a key part of the state's infrastructure upgrade initiatives, aims to enhance the 9.0-kilometre dual carriage corridor stretching from Ojodu-Berger Bus-Stop to Mobil Filling Station Junction, covering both inbound and outbound lanes.
During the execution of the works, vehicular access will be restricted within the designated construction zones. The Commissioner stressed the importance of motorists exercising patience, adhering to traffic signage, and cooperating with the traffic management officials who will be deployed along the corridor.
The reconstruction of Ogunnusi Road is an integral part of the ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Government to improve road infrastructure and alleviate traffic congestion within Ikeja and its environs. The project is being implemented in phases, with partial lane closures and the strategic opening of alternative routes designed to minimize disruption to daily commutes.
