Nigerian Breweries Plc has reported a fire incident at an external warehouse facility in Aba, Abia State, confirming that no casualties were recorded. The fire occurred on Thursday at a leased warehouse opposite its Aba brewery, which was used for storing empty plastic crates.
In a corporate filing released to the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. on Friday and signed by its Company Secretary, Mr Uaboi Agbebaku, the company stated that the fire was promptly contained. Its emergency response team managed the situation with support from relevant government agencies.
The company also acknowledged the assistance provided by Oris Group and members of the host community in bringing the fire under control. The immediate impact of the incident was limited to the empty crates stored in the facility.
Nigerian Breweries assured stakeholders that operations at its Aba brewery, encompassing production, logistics, and sales, were not affected by the incident. The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence across all its facilities.
Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
