eTranzact Says Digital Payments Boost Tax Administration

eTranzact Plc has highlighted the critical role of digital payments in significantly improving tax administration, revenue collection, and public service delivery in Nigeria. This assertion was made by the company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Niyi Toluwalope, at the Nigeria Employers’ Summit 2026, organized by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) in Abuja.

Mr. Toluwalope, whose remarks were delivered by Mr. Abubakar Achimugu, Executive Director and Group Head, Public Sector Division, emphasized that digital payments have evolved beyond mere financial transactions to become a vital driver of economic growth and accountability. He noted that they enhance transparency, strengthen revenue collection, and support better public service delivery.

Nigeria's Digital Identity Progress Underpins Infrastructure

Speaking on technology's role in national development, Mr. Toluwalope explained that governments globally are investing in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) as the bedrock for efficient modern economies. He clarified that DPI rests on three interconnected pillars: digital identity, trusted data exchange, and digital payments.

Nigeria has already made substantial strides in digital identity enrolment, with over 100 million National Identity Numbers (NINs) and more than 60 million Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) recorded. While the government provides the enabling policy framework, private sector firms are tasked with building, operating, and expanding the necessary digital infrastructure to support economic activities.

Mr. Toluwalope stated, "Every digital payment creates a trusted record. Every trusted record strengthens accountability. Every accountable transaction reduces leakages. Every reduction in leakages increases confidence in government, institutions and the economy, and that is where eTranzact comes in."

eTranzact's Solutions Drive Efficiency and Transparency

eTranzact's technology solutions are actively supporting government institutions and businesses in improving efficiency and service delivery. The company believes that technology creates value only when it advances national priorities, a principle that guides every solution it builds.

The firm's support extends to Federal and State Government revenue collections and digital transformation initiatives across both public and private sectors. Key platforms offered by eTranzact include its e-Invoicing Solution, Pension Gateway, Electronic Verification Management System, and Central Billing Systems, all designed to enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.

These platforms are tailored to assist organizations, including NECA members, in optimizing their operations through secure and efficient digital solutions. This positions eTranzact as a leader in digital payment innovation and a trusted partner in translating public sector reforms into tangible economic outcomes.

Commitment to ESG and Economic Growth

Mr. Toluwalope further noted that digital payment innovation contributes significantly to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives by fostering financial inclusion, strengthening governance, and enabling businesses to operate more efficiently. He reaffirmed eTranzact’s commitment to collaborating with both government and the private sector to build robust digital payment infrastructure that supports ongoing reforms.

Adedayo Adejokun, eTranzact’s Federal Government Business Partnerships lead, added that the company's sponsorship of the summit underscores its dedication to government reforms and inclusive economic growth. She emphasized that eTranzact's role extends beyond payment processing, aiming to simplify interactions between citizens, businesses, and government for seamless and efficient processes.

The summit also featured the launch of the Environmental, Social and Governance implementation guide for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria. eTranzact had previously committed to supporting taxpayers with same-day onboarding and seamless electronic invoice uploads as the Nigeria Revenue Service progresses with its e-invoicing regime.
