A new player, Milon Express, has entered the Nigerian market with a mission to overhaul workforce mobility through technology-backed solutions. The company aims to tackle the persistent commuting challenges experienced by millions of employees and businesses in urban centers across Nigeria.
The launch comes as daily commuting becomes increasingly unpredictable for Nigerian workers. Studies reveal that in Lagos alone, over 60% of workers depend on informal transport systems, resulting in increased stress, fatigue, lateness, safety concerns, and reduced productivity. These issues place a significant economic and operational burden on organizations, affecting HR departments struggling with attendance and companies grappling with inconsistent output.
Milon Express seeks to alleviate these problems by offering corporate staff mobility, fleet outsourcing and management, and technology-enabled travel visibility through its MilonConnect platform. Olowofela Olabode, Co-Founder of Milon Express, stated that the company’s goal extends beyond simply solving a transport issue. “Commuting in Nigeria has become mentally and physically exhausting for the average 9–5 worker. People wake up battling uncertainty, overcrowded buses, unpredictable fares, and long queues before they even begin their workday. Milon Express was built to change this reality,” he said.
The company aims to provide structure, predictability, comfort, and safety, elements it believes the modern workforce deserves. The goal is to ensure employees arrive at work feeling calmer, more focused, and prepared to perform their duties effectively.
By offering structured and technology-driven solutions, Milon Express hopes to improve the daily lives of Nigerian workers and enhance the productivity of businesses. The success of Milon Express could set a new standard for workforce mobility solutions in Nigeria, paving the way for other innovative approaches to address the country's transportation challenges.
