Iran delegation arrives in Islamabad for Pakistan-brokered US talks

An Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad late Thursday for talks brokered by Pakistan with the United States. The White House has stated that Vice President JD Vance will lead the negotiations in Islamabad this weekend.

Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, announced the delegation's arrival on X, noting that despite skepticism due to repeated ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the Iranian delegation for serious discussions.

“Iranian delegation arrives tonight in Islamabad for serious talks based on 10 points proposed by Iran,” Moghadam added.

Authorities in Islamabad declared local holidays for Thursday and Friday, a common measure for security reasons ahead of high-profile diplomatic events. Offices providing essential services, including police, hospitals, and utilities, will remain operational during this period.
